Porfolio

Following are some of the projects we have worked on in the past 3 years.

JuriFamille

https://jurifamille.com

JuriFamille, a Web application accessible only to duly registered Barreau du Québec lawyers, allows lawyers to complete the Child Support Determination Form (Schedule I) and the Statement of income and expenditures and balance sheet (Form III) for spousal support, as well as other forms prescribed by law for divorce procedures.

In addition to doing all the calculations determining child or spousal support, the application is designed to help the lawyer easily create scenarios and formulate hypotheses with respect to child custodies, the admissibility of certain expenses, incomes, deductions, or any other aspect pertaining to a given case file.

As per its important role in the calculations, the clients’ fiscality is automatically taken care of.

This project was put forth by the Corporation de services du Barreau du Québec.

We handled all aspects of this project (specifications, design, architecture, development and maintenance).

Tasks

  • Analysis and specifications
  • Backend development (Ruby On Rails and MySQL)
  • Interface development (HTML, CSS, AJAX, Javascript)
  • Maintenance

Symposia

https://symposia.gerad.ca

Symposia is a web-based event management system developed for 2 university research centers: GERAD and CIRRELT.

The application allows to manage many aspects of the scientific conferences the research centers host or sponsor, by taking charge of online registration, online paper submission for each event, as well as allowing to create a web site for each event. It also features a paper review module, in which designated evaluators can perform paper reviews assigned to them.

We handled all aspects of this project (specifications, design, architecture, development and maintenance).

Tasks

  • Analysis and specifications
  • Backend development (Ruby On Rails et MySQL)
  • Interface development (HTML, CSS, AJAX, Javascript)
  • Maintenance

Corporation de Services du Barreau du Quebec

http://csbq.ca

After having sucessullfy deployed JuriCarriere, which is owned by CSBQ, we were mandated to develop their Web site, which is one of the first Ruby On Rails applications we developped. The objective of the Web site is to publish information about the Corporation de services du Barreau du Québec, while putting emphasis on products and services offered by their partners.

The Web site features a complete CMS (Content Management System), allowing their owners manage the publish content and keep it up to date.

Tasks

  • Backend development (public site and content management system) (Ruby On Rails et MySQL)
  • Graphic design integration (Photoshop)
  • Maintenance

Praized

http://praized.com

Praized enables publishers to provide their users with an easy way to recommend local places to each other.

We worked as developers in the early stages of this web 2.0 startup. We laid out the initial foundation for the core of the application backend.

Tasks

  • Backend (application core) development (Ruby On Rails et MySQL)
  • Graphic design integration (Photoshop)

Wuntoo.com

http://wuntoo.com

This web 2.0 application lets you mark your favorite places on a map and add a personal voice recording describing why that place is worth visiting.

We developed the technological proof of concept, in which we explored and found a way to merge together very diverging technologies to provide a unique user experience on the web.

Behind the Wuntoo web site was a VoIP engine (Asterisk) connected in real-time to the web backend, along with advanced Google Maps integration. Users could call a land-line phone number and record a voice comment through an IVR (Interactive Voice Response) system which then automatically published the recording on the web site, and plotted the actual location the voice comment refered to on an integrated Google Map. The VoIP integration did not make it to the launch, but it sure was interesting to explore and come up with a way to make a web site interact in real-time with a VoIP server!

Tasks

  • Backend development (Ruby On Rails / MySQL)
  • Interface development (HTML, CSS, AJAX, Javascript)
  • Interface between web application and VoIP server (Asterisk)
  • Interactive geographic maps integration (Google Maps API)

Just For Laughs Video Portal

Note: the video portal application is no longer accessible

This Web application allowed its users (and the editorial team) to upload and share video clips.

Using Ruby on Rails, we developed the backend of the video portal, which included integrating (and helping refine) the communication API (SOAP protocol) with the video streaming provider (Stream The World).

Tasks

  • Backend development (Ruby On Rails and MySQL)
  • Integration of HTML designs into Ruby On Rails templates
  • Interface development (AJAX, Javascript)
  • Interface with Stream The World API (SOAP/XML)

JuriCarrière

http://juricarriere.com

JuriCarrière is a job board tailored to Quebec's legal domain and puts lawyers and employers in contact with each other. Candidates register and create their professional profile (CV), while employers either perform candidate searches or post job offers.

In its first two years of operation, JuriCarriere has handled over 1500 candidates, 350 employers and 300 job postings and is still growing in use.

Tasks

  • Analysis ans specifications
  • Graphic design
  • Backend development (public web site and management interface) (PHP and MySQL)
  • Interface development (HTML, CSS, AJAX, Javascript)
  • Integration of online credit card payment system (Verisign PayFlowPro)
